Harsh words exchanged in the heat of passion, misunderstandings, the clinch. And, of course, a happy ending. Romance novels have basic building blocks and we love them. Come sit in our lap, tropes, let us appreciate you.
If you like romance novels, you have your pick of sub-sub genre—historical, Gothic, supernatural, secret baby, detective, NASCAR, hot cop, hot anything. But if you like lady-on-lady romancin’, then the pool of options dries up and we think that’s a crying shame. So we’re on a mission to hunt down and appreciate lady-lovin’ romance novels.
Our rules are simple: the primary romance of the story has to be two ladies and there has to be a happy ending. The closer to classic, Harlequin-style romance novels we get, the happier we’ll be. We love fantasy and sf, but two ladies making out shouldn’t be relegated to worlds where steampunk vampires exist.
LadyLike Book Club: for the love of ladies.
